SSCC PRESCHOOL & CHILD CARE CENTER
CARING FOR 30 YEARS

South Seattle Community College Preschool and Child Care Center has been serving the diverse needs of SSCC families since 1976. It is a state-certified center and is funded in part by college and student funds. The center is a place where children can develop positive attitudes about themselves and others, participate in age-appropriate learning experiences and opportunities, gain skills to deal with life situations and develop knowledge about their world while their parents pursue educational and professional goals.

LOCATION
SSCC’s Preschool and Child Care Center was built in 1992 with children in mind. It is conveniently located on campus adjacent to the South Parking lot. The center has large classroom spaces, a parent area, and an outdoor learning environment that includes climbing structures, bike path, gardening area, and a covered patio.

AGES AND HOW TO ENROLL
SSCC students and employees, and a limited number of community families, with children between the ages of 18 months - 9 years old, are eligible for enrollment in the center. Enrollment is based on the number of spaces available and the parent’s schedule. Parents enroll their children on a pre-arranged regular schedule. Applications for enrollment are handled through the Child Care Office. We welcome telephone inquiries and in-person visits.

HOURS & FEES
Hours of the center are 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM Monday – Friday. Parents pay an hourly rate that accommodates flexible scheduling options. Click here to view Child Care Center fees. STAFF
A staff trained in early childhood development creates a friendly and supportive learning environment. The Manager handles the overall management and supervision of the center. Four lead teachers plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for the children. Program Assistants and Work Study Students assist in the classroom, on the playground and at meals.
